Khinalig-Laza (Gusar) | 3 days Homestay Hike
Overview
Khinalig is situated at 2,250 m altitude in Gudiyalchay Valley surrounded by Tufandag (4,191 m), Gizilgaya (3,750 m), and Khinalig (3,714 m) mountains. The people of the village are Khinalig or Ketish as they say.
Galakhudat village is 2,270 m in the foothills of the Gizilgaya plateau's steep rocks, a bit away from the Guba-Khinalig main road. The village has saved its antiquity. It is the only village ne, and its people are Azerbaijani Turks.
Griz is located at 2,000 m surrounded on one side by a steep deep canyon of Gudiyalchay and on the other side by the steep, steep slopes of Gizilgaya. The People of the village of Griz belong to the Shahdag branch of the Lezgi language group.
Laza village is at 1,600+ m altitude, between the Shahdagh and the Gizilgaya plateau, in the Gusarchay river valley. There are 30 houses in this small village and the people are from the Lezgi ethnic group.

Program
DAY 1
Explore the scenic journey from Baku to Khinalig village nestled in the Caucasus Mountains. We'll depart in the morning, stopping in Guba along the way. Arrive in Khinalig by midday and enjoy a traditional lunch in a local house. Afterwards, take a leisurely walk around Khinalig before embarking on an 8 km hike to Galakhudat village along the historic car road. Reach Galakhudat by evening, where dinner and overnight accommodations await.
DAY 2
Start the day with organic food at breakfast followed by a great hike with several nice viewpoints of Gudiyalchay Canyon (2nd deepest in Azerbaijan) to Griz village (11 km). Along the way, discover a picturesque waterfall before arriving in the village. Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local house and explore a remote life in a mountain village. Finishing the day with a delicious dinner and an overnight stay in the guesthouse.
DAY 3
After breakfast, we will drive to the stunning viewpoint known as "Paradise" at 3,300 m by 4x4 vehicle. Take in the breathtaking scenery during your free time at the viewpoint. Then, we set off on a 13 km downhill hike to Laza village, where we'll arrive by late afternoon. Enjoy a delicious early dinner in Laza before returning to Baku in the evening. Immerse yourself in the beauty of the Caucasus Mountains and create unforgettable memories during this 3 days tour.
Accommodation and food:
We will stay overnight in the Khinalig and Galakhudat villages. Sleep on the mattress and blanket on the floor. There will be enough rooms for normal distribution. The toilet is traditionally outside and there is a bathroom in Khinalig village for showers. We will have meals in village houses.
